On wednesay Nathanial came down with a fever and started to throw up his cereal in the morning. He slept most of the day and just wanted to be in mommys arms. My usually upbeat little boy had been hit by something. Thursday he had the same thing but the fever had gone down and the throwing up had stopped. We went to the doctor who did a urine test and told us to give him advil and to come in the next day. On Friday we went in and we found out he has an infection. He is on antibiotics and has to be on them for 10 days. My little guy is so tired and so listless. It is so hard to see, my usually upbeat little boy just wants to lie down and sleep. At least the major poop has stopped.
We also realized today on top of him being ill, he is teething..
It is so hard to see him this way and feel so helpless. I have cried many times seeing him like this, as they say its harder on us then on him. You just realize the love so much and wish it could be you feeling this way instead.

The poor little guy. I hope he feels better soon :) Ah...teething too, eh? That's not fun either for little N!
Aww, poor little guy! Zoë got sick like that with a lot of her teeth...the doctors say it is not related, but unfortunately it has been mine (and many of my friends) experiences that getting sick and teething seem to go together. The anti-biotics should kick in pretty soon. If he is still nursing, do so as much as possible. Nothing is better for a sick baby than breastmilk, and often it is all they want to eat and all they can hold down.
Poor little Nathanial, and poor you! You're probably feeling very helpless now, but antibiotics work like a wonder and babies bounce back pretty quickly. I'm sure the teething isn't helping. Hang in there, it'll get better real soon!
I hope he feels better soon and luckily he won't remember how icky he was feeling and will be back to his cheerful self soon!
